In recent years, biologists have recognized that birds engage in play. Juvenile Common Ravens are among the most playful of bird species. They have been observed to slide down snowbanks, apparently purely for fun. They even engage in games with other species, such as playing catch-me-if-you-can with wolves, otters and dogs.[77] Common Ravens are known for spectacular aerobatic displays, such as flying in loops or interlocking talons with each other in flight.[78][79]

They are also one of only a few wild animals who make their own toys. They have been observed breaking off twigs to play with socially.[80]

astronomy-to-zoology:

Sunbeam Snake (Xenopeltis unicolor)

is a species of non-venomous snake native to parts of Southeast Asia and Indonesia. They get the name sunbeam due to its highly iridescent scales that make it look like the snake is lighting up. The sunbeam snake is highly noted for its reproductive abilities and it its known to give birth of up to 10 eggs at a time. Due to the fact that they have no venom the snake relies on constriction to kill their prey. They spend most of their time below ground and prey on small mammals and other reptiles.

In India, a snake protects two pups for 48 hours after they accidentally fall into a hole. At first it was thought that she wanted to attack them, but then noticed she was caring for the puppies. When rescued, the snake was released into a forest.
